Ethicon Microneedling Device
Fall 2019 I Medical Design I Class Project
Project Brief
What is Microneedling?
Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a skin rejuvenation procedure that stimulates the body to form new collagen and elastin. Microneedling is known to improve skin texture and tone, reduce pore size, and improve scars and stretch marks. A series of three treatments one month apart is typically required for optimal results.

The face is the most common area microneedling is performed on, mostly for acne scars and wrinkles. However it can be performed any where like on C-Section scars on the stomach or scalp to promote hair growth.

They lay the tool down in between areas and put it on the cosmopen stand, however it sometimes can fall off. It doesn’t happen very often but sometimes when you’re not careful with putting it down it can tip over because it’s just a cheap piece of plastic.
One time with the RN, the cord became taught and when she placed it on the stand to put on the medium and move onto the next area it fell and hit the floor.
